1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to spice preference)
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
Salt to taste
1/4 cup heavy cream (optional)
Fresh cilantro leaves, for garnish
Instructions:
Combine the grated paneer, mashed potatoes, corn flour, chopped cilantro, ginger-garlic paste, cumin powder, red chilli powder and salt in a mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly to get a dough-like consistency.
Shape the mixture into small balls (koftas) and set them aside.
Heat the oil in a large skillet and cook the paneer koftas till golden brown. Remove and pat dry with a paper towel.
Heat mustard oil in a separate pan and sauté chopped onions till golden brown. Mix in the minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for a minute.
Add tomato puree, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, and salt. Cook, until the oil separates from the gravy.
Pour in the water and allow it to simmer for a few minutes to allow the flavours to mingle.
Gently drop the fried paneer koftas into the curry, making sure they are well submerged. Simmer for another 5 minutes.
Optional: For a creamy texture, stir in heavy cream.
Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and serve hot with naan or steamed rice. Enjoy the flavorful curry with the melt-in-your-mouth paneer koftas!
