DESCRIPTION
Raw honey is best described as honey “as it exists in the beehive” At Gramya Farms the honeybees roam around freely to collect nectar and pollen from various flora in and around the farm. Once the honey is collected in the hive, all we have to do is strain it by pouring it over a muslin cloth to separate some impurities, before it is bottled. This process retains the beneficial nutrients and antioxidants that raw honey naturally contains. The presence of pollen makes it the most magical super food.

FAQS
How do bees make honey?
Worker honey bees collect the sweet fluid from the nectar of flowers. They transform this floral nectar into honey by adding enzymes. They also reduce the moisture in honey so that it lasts longer in the hive.
Is your honey raw?
Honey as it exists in the beehive’ is the best way to describe raw honey. We just leave the honey for impurities to settle or just strain it without adding any kind of heat before it's put in the bottle. So it retains all the natural enzymes and pollen present in natural honey.
How is Raw honey different from pasteurised honey?
Raw honey’s health benefits come from its natural ingredients which pasteurized honey may not contain. Honey is exposed to high temperatures for pasteurization that destroys its natural properties. Some of the pasteurized honey contain added sweeteners, such as high fructose corn syrup or brown rice syrup. Infact some commercial products labelled as “honey” may not even be 100% real honey. While raw honey does not contain any other ingredient other than honey from the beehive
Why does your honey look or taste different from what I'm used to?
There is not just one flavour or colour of honey as flavours and colours are derived from the nectar of the flowers the bees collect. Some are light and sweet; others are dark and bold. At Gramya Farms our raw honey is only strained, bottled and tightly sealed without heating. Freshly harvested honey that is not heated has a fuller aroma and natural taste.
Is crystallized honey still good to eat?
It is natural for raw honey to crystallize as the glucose in honey precipitates out of liquid honey. It is absolutely fine to consume crystallized honey. Simply place the jar of honey in lukewarm water after removing from heat and let the jar of honey sit there for some time till the crystals dissolve and you can mix it all up with a spoon. Be careful not to boil or scorch the honey. You can also eat honey in a crystallized form, spread it on your warm toast or add a spoonful in your hot tea!
